Professor of Psychiatry, Emeritus, and Co-Director, Center for the Study and Prevention of Suicide | University of Rochester Medical Center

Eric D. Caine, M.D., has been a faculty member at the URMC since 1978 and led the Dep. of Psychiatry from 1993-2017. He has deep experience in the evaluation and care of seriously ill psychiatric patients, including those acutely suicidal, dating to the 1970s. His grant funded research and education activities in the US and internationally focused for more than three decades on preventing suicide, attempted suicide, and their antecedent risks as well as its community and policy implications.
